What is Global Invite Settings and how to configure it?

Published:

Setting Global Defaults for Invite Configuration

iMocha allows account-level admins to configure default invite settings once at the account level, so every new test link created in the account inherits these values automatically.

The Global Invite Settings page is available under Global Settings → Master Settings → Invite Settings and is accessible only to users with Edit Test Setting access.

What are these settings control

Global Invite Settings are organized into three sections:

Common Settings apply to both Email Invite and Open Link types.

Email Invite Defaults let you set the default access time type (Specified Days, Time Bound, or Slot Wise), number of access days, timezone, auto follow-up count, and auto reminder interval. These values pre-fill the invite configuration modal every time a new email invite link is created.

This option lets you configure the following - with system defaults shown in brackets:

  • Access Time type: Specified Days, Time Bound, or Slot Wise [Default: Specified Days]
  • Number of access days (1–30) [Default: 7 days]
  • Timezone [Default: super-admin account timezone; fallback to UTC-12:00 if not set]
  • Auto follow-up count [Default: 7]
  • Auto reminder interval [Default: 7 days]
Open Link Defaults let you set the default timezone for open link invites. Access time (date range) is intentionally not pre-filled at the global level — since open link access windows are typically assessment-specific, this must be set at the test level each time.

How defaults are applied

When a new test link is created - either Email Invite or Open Link - the invite configuration modal pre-fills with your saved global defaults. These values are fully editable before the link is created. Overriding a value for a specific test link does not change your global settings.

If no Global Invite Settings have been configured, the system falls back to existing platform defaults. No existing assessments or live invite links are affected when global settings are saved or updated - defaults apply only to new test links created after the setting is saved.

Impact on existing assessments

Global Invite Settings apply only to new test links created after the settings are saved. Existing assessments and live invite links are not affected in any way when global settings are saved or updated.

Configuration priority

When a test link is created, settings are applied in this order of precedence:

API Request Parameters → Test-Level Settings → Global Invite Settings → System Defaults

This matters for accounts using API-based invite flows or the Talent Portal - test-level and global settings will only apply where no API parameter has been explicitly passed.
