How to add a new Business Unit?

Know how to add a new business unit and assign it to a user.

A business unit is a significant functional area representing a specific line of business. It is a part of the company’s value chain of activities; for example, Product Management, Human Resources, Marketing, Sales, and Operations are a few of them. It helps a company organize itself. iMocha provides an option to add a business unit to the user, and the admins can view activities and hiring performance of their Business Unit.

Note: Only the Users' with "Business Unit Settings" access can add/edit Business Unit.

To add a new Business Unit:

  1. Go to Settings->Global Settings->Business Unit.

  2. Click Add BU.

  3. Enter the name of the new Business Unit in the text box that appears.
  4. Click Save.
    The new business unit added appears on the list with the details of when it was created, last edited by, last edited on, and status.

To edit the Business Unit:

  1. Go to Settings->Global Settings->Business Unit.
  2. Click the Edit button.
  3. Edit the name of the Business Unit in the text box as required and click Save.
  4. The following window appears:
  5. Click Yes.

Now the Business Unit is updated with a new name and all the users in the particular Business Unit is linked to the updated Business Unit..

To delete the Business Unit:

  1. Go to Settings->Global Settings->Business Unit.
  2. Click the Inactivate button to inactivate the Business Unit.
  3. The below window appears.
  4. Click Yes,Inactivate.

    The status of the Business Unit is now Inactive.

Note: The business unit cannot be deleted, but can be inactivated. Inactivated Business units will not appear in the drop down list while adding a new user.
